UPCES Student Jack Nicholson Gets Published

UPCES students are often characterized by their ambition, as well as by their enthusiasm for getting involved in the local community whenever possible. Taking on an internship during the study abroad semester is a fantastic way to enrich the Prague experience, as well as to meet both locals and internationals. Current UPCES student Jack Nicholson wasted no time in applying to the UPCES Internship Program last summer. Soon after his arrival in Prague, he secured an internship position at Transitions Online, an international publishing and media development organization. Jack was immediately welcomed into the flock, so much so that he contributed to a series of regional news pieces that were published on his very first day in the office!

The mission of Transitions Online is to improve the professionalism, independence, and impact of the news media in the 29 post-communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the former Soviet Union. Students who intern at Transitions Online invariably have wonderful experiences there, taking on everything from writing news articles to fundraising and marketing.

We’re thrilled that Jack is already gaining some great editorial experience, while also making a difference in the community. You can have a look at the stories Jack has been working on at the link below:
