Coming soon: Day-trip to Plzeň on April 11th!

Plzeň is the fourth most populous city in the Czech Republic. It is located about 80 miles west of Prague at the confluence of four rivers. This past September, the city was nominated to join the Belgian city of Mons as the European capital of culture in 2015.

Plzeň is known worldwide as the birthplace of the Pilsener brewing process. Less well-known, but equally impressive, is the city's magnificent Great Synagogue (third largest in the world), picturesque Old Town, historic Republic Square, and towering St. Bartholomew's Cathedral. Also of note is the recently unveiled monument to American troops, who liberated the city from the Nazis in 1945.
