Věra Soukupová, Ph.D.
Věra Soukupová is a historian focused on medieval cultural history. She gained her Ph.D. in a joined programme at Sorbonne University in Paris and Charles University in Prague (2017). Since 2020, she has been attached to the Institute of Czech Literature at the Czech Academy of Sciences and was awarded with a postdoctoral fellowship by Humboldt Foundation (2022). Her research areas involve medieval chronicles, literature, and gender constructions in premodern societies. She published her thesis by Honoré Champion (La construction de la réalité historique chez Jean Froissart. Lʼhistorien et sa matière, Paris 2021) and translated early fifteenth-century City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan to Czech (2018).
