Tomas Konecny has extensive experience in central banking, international organizations, and research institutions. Tomas specializes in financial system stability and resilience, macro-financial linkages, stress testing, as well as household and corporate finance. He advised on systemic risk surveillance, data and stress-testing frameworks (banks solvency, liquidity, and interconnectedness stress tests), and helped set up teams and institutional mechanisms for a coordinated policy
response to system-wide events. He organized and conducted several technical assistance missions and workshops and participated in panel discussions on capacity development. Tomas currently works as a consultant for the International Monetary Fund and served as the Fund's Resident Advisor to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) during the unprecedented economic and sovereign crisis in the country. His prior work experience includes the Czech National Bank and European Systemic Risk Board in Frankfurt am Main. Tomas holds a Ph.D. from CERGE-EI and an M.A. in International Trade and European Integration awarded by the Erasmus Mundus Program. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
