Nikoloz Kudashvili, Ph.D.
Profile
Nikoloz holds PhD in Economics and Econometrics from CERGE-EI. His main research interests are in the fields of Development Economics, Behavioral Economics and Economic Growth. Nikoloz was a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago in 2016 where he completed his second chapter of his dissertation. Nikoloz uses experimental data to study sources of discrimination, minorities' strategic response to discrimination and the consequences of the information provision or signaling. His research also focuses on the role of biased beliefs about labor market conditions in the context of human capital investments. Nikoloz has taught undergraduate and graduate Macroeconomics at the Charles University in Prague since 2015.

- How did you become interested in your subject and why did you want to teach it?
- I always wanted to know the reasons why some countries stay poor while others grow and flourish. I teach the growth and development course to help students to understand differences in the standards of living across countries.
