Lucia Najšlová, PhD, is interested in questions of belonging and mobility in European politics. Her work in progress connects to literatures on sovereignty, recognition and anthropology of the future. Lucia is currently a fellow at the Department of Social Anthropology, Comenius University in Bratislava and a lecturer at UPCES CERGE-EI. She has served as a Faculty member at Department of European Studies, Charles University in Prague and Associate Fellow at the Institute of International Relations. She has contributed analysis and commentary to various international outlets. In 2014-15 she has served as a member of external advisory team to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Lucia is a founding editor of V4Revue, a long-form journalism portal on society and politics in Central Europe. She has been a policy fellow at SFPA (2006-10) and Institute for European Policy EUROPEUM (2011-2015), her work has focused on EU enlargement and neighborhood policies and evolving and conflicting meanings of ‘the West’ and ‘Europe’ in societies undergoing political transition and conceptualization of transnational solidarities in the EU.
